This is a view of the left side of the house with the front on the right and the rear on the left. Note the attic vent type and size, the vent size is determined by the square footage of the house. Use the square footage of the house divided by 150 to get the square footage of the vents needed. Take the square footage of the livable area and the garage “1788” for total attic space, divided by 150 for a total of approximately 12 square feet of vent opening required. The vent size given is only 5 square feet times two vents for a total of ten square feet. We come up a little short. We will need another 2 square feet.


Note that the house is raised above the natural grade of the lot. This is to provide adequate drainage away from the house.
